Michael Shanks is a multi-award-winning Director and Writer based in Melbourne, Australia.

With a background in comedy, music and VFX, his work with multiple production companies has garnered millions of views online and his work has been broadcast on Adult Swim, ABC, SBS2, and Foxtel’s Comedy Channel and Showcase.

A multi-faceted filmmaker, he co-created the SBS2 series The Wizards of Aus, which he also Directed, wrote, starred in, composed the music, and did VFX. His work often takes place within distinctive, often comedic worlds, with a focus on visual storytelling and spectacle.

His latest short film, Rebooted, (which blends live-action, animation, puppetry and CGI) has garnered international festival recognition and awards – including nominations from AACTA and the ADG. His previous short film, Time Trap, is in active development with Hopscotch Features.

Michael’s personal YouTube channel Timtimfed has almost 60,000,000 views and over 200,000 subscribers across its diverse range of content.

He is currently commissioned to write multiple feature films and comedy series for different production companies.
He is also feeling dirty about the pretense that Directors don’t write their own braggadocios website biographies.
